Progress Port has taken over the Recycling Program. Times will now be M, W, F from 9 am to noon at the City of Marion Training Center, 211 East Blvd Street, Marion, Illinois.
Pickup Dates
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the City of Marion Training Center, 211 East Blvd Street, Marion, Illinois.
Most recyclable material is taken to Republic Services. What Williamson County Recycling is able to collect:
- Aluminum cans
- Steel/tin cans (Please rinse out)
- Miscellaneous metals
- Newspaper (and inserts)
- Magazines/catalogs
- Office paper (bagged or boxed, not loose)
- Shredded paper (bagged, not loose)
- Junk mail
- Cardboard and boxboard (i.e. cereal and food boxes)
- Books (soft and hard cover)
- Plastic bottles (#1 and #2 only)
- Standard size plastic and wooden pallets
** We are also bonded to provide shredding services to anyone in need of shredding.
Material NOT Accepted
- No glass
- Poly
- Styrene or Styrafoam
- All household hazardous waste, paint and motor oil must be disposed of through an Illinois EPA sponsored collection. Please contact your local health department for information and times of Illinois EPA sponsored collections.
- Gas or Aerosol Cans
- Motor Oil Bottles
- Plastic Bags

Williamson County Recycling cannot accept any medical biohazards. This includes animal medical biohazards. Thank you for your cooperation!
